Short answer
"v7" is a seller-assigned revision number for a replica of the Cartier Calibre de Cartier in a 41 mm case. It is not a Cartier designation. Cartier does not publish version numbers for its watches, and no official list maps v1 through v7 to specific changes. The label comes from the factory or the dealer. Treat it as a batch marker, not a quality grade.
What the v number tracks
Replica factories release batches. A new batch gets a new number when a mold, a dial print, or a movement changes. A v7 label can mean a corrected date window, a different handset, or a swap from one movement to another. Two sellers can use the same number for two different watches. Ask for the batch date and photos of the unit you will receive.
Specs to check against the reference
- Case diameter: 41 mm at the bezel edge, not at the crown guard.
- Case thickness: the genuine three-hand automatic with date runs near 10 mm to 11 mm. A thick case points to a spacer over a small movement.
- Lug width: confirm the bracelet or strap size before you order.
- Crystal: sapphire on the genuine watch. Press a fingernail on the surface. Plastic scratches. Sapphire does not.
- Water resistance: the genuine rating changes by reference. A replica seal is not pressure tested. Do not swim with it.
Dial and case checks
Look at the Roman numerals at 12 and 6. The print should be flat and sharp at the edges. The date window should sit centered with even gaps on all four sides. The crown should screw down in two full turns with no wobble. On the caseback, reference and serial engravings should be crisp and centered. Blurred laser etching is a common fault on low batches.
Movement
Most v7 units ship with a Chinese automatic, often a Miyota 9015 copy or a DG series. Ask which one. A Miyota 9015 runs at 28,800 beats per hour. A low-grade DG runs at 21,600. Listen to the beat. A faster sweep points to the higher beat rate. Test hacking and hand-winding on arrival. Both should work with no grinding.

Price signals
Batch numbers do not set price. Price tracks the movement, the finishing, and the dealer margin. A v7 at a low price and a v7 at a high price can be two different watches. Compare photos of the same batch from two sellers, then compare the crown, the date font, and the bracelet end links.
Legal note
Replica watches infringe trademarks. U.S. Customs and Border Protection can seize shipments of counterfeit goods. Cartier and its parent company Richemont file civil cases against sellers. A seized parcel is a total loss. No replica carries a manufacturer warranty, and no service center will touch one.
What stays unknown
No public record lists v7 changes. Factory names are not published. Weight and thickness figures from sellers are often copied from the genuine spec sheet, not measured. Ask for a caliper photo and a scale photo of the actual watch.
