The pick: three-hand automatic, Miyota 9015, 40 mm
Buy the plain three-hand version first. Case 40 mm wide, 9.5 mm thick, sapphire front crystal, solid steel caseback, leather strap, Miyota 9015 inside. Price band $180 to $260. Two reasons. First, a three-hander has few places to hide a defect: dial print, hand alignment, crown action and date jump are all visible in the first minute. Second, the 9015 is a real production caliber with published specs, so a seller who names it can be checked. Ask for a 20-second video of the second hand sweep and a photo of the movement with the back off.
Option two: Sellita SW200 build, $400 to $600
Same case, Swiss-adjacent movement. Worth it if you want a 28,800 bph sweep and a movement that a local watchmaker will service. Verify the rotor engraving and the balance bridge shape against a photo of a bare SW200. Counterfeit movements get sold as Sellita.
Option three: quartz, $60 to $90
Thin case, accurate time, no service cost. The tell is the dead-beat seconds hand. Pick this if the watch is for occasional wear and you accept that tell.
Skip: cheap chronographs
Sub-dial spacing, pusher feel and running-seconds layout on sub-$200 chronographs rarely match the original. Too many failure points for the money.
Fake IW93835 Best Price: A Replica Buying Guide
What IW93835 refers to
I could not find IW93835 in IWC's published reference list. IWC reference numbers run as IW plus four or five digits. Treat IW93835 as a seller code, not a catalog number. Before paying, get the model name, case diameter, lug width and movement caliber in writing.
Checks before you order
- Case diameter and thickness measured with calipers, not quoted from a listing.
- Dial text under a 10x loupe. Look for bleeding edges and uneven spacing.
- Crown threads: screw it down 20 times. Grit means a soft tube.
- Water resistance. Assume none. Replica gaskets are not pressure tested. Keep it out of water.
- Return window, payment method and tracking number in the order confirmation.
- Strap material. PU leather cracks at the buckle in months.
Limits you accept
No warranty from IWC, no service at an IWC boutique, no resale value. US Customs and Border Protection seizes counterfeit imports, and selling counterfeits violates trademark law. Budget for loss of the watch and the payment.
