Short answer

"Replica Globemaster 7407" is a seller term. It points to a copy of the Omega Constellation Globemaster, a 39 mm dress watch with a pie-pan dial. The number 7407 does not appear in Omega's public case reference lists. Treat it as a stock code from the seller, not a factory reference. Two versions of the real watch exist: the 1956 US-market Constellation, which Omega sold under the Globemaster name, and the 2015 relaunch. Most copies follow the 2015 model.

What the real watch is

Omega used the Globemaster name in 1956 for the US market. Lockheed held the Constellation name for an aircraft, so Omega shipped the same watch under Globemaster. The modern Globemaster arrived in 2015 as a stand-alone line inside the Constellation family.

Omega lists these numbers for the current model:

  • Case thickness: 12.6 mm
  • Bezel: fluted tungsten carbide
  • Dial: pie-pan step, date at 6 o'clock

What copies change

  • Bezel material. Tungsten carbide is dense and gray. Copies use 316L steel or plated brass. The density does not match.
  • Dial step. Real pie-pan dials carry a machined step about 1 mm deep. Many copies print a line on a flat dial.
  • Movement. A 2813 or a 2824 clone sits under the rotor. A genuine ETA 2824 costs $200 or more on its own, which is more than most complete copies.
  • Caseback. Real watches carry an eight-digit reference plus a METAS certificate number. Copies carry a stamped caseback with a decorative rotor.
  • Weight. No published weight exists for any copy. The tungsten bezel adds mass on the real watch that steel cannot match.

Movement tiers

  • $60 to $120: 21-jewel 2813, no hacking, about 40 hours of reserve.
  • $150 to $300: 2824 clone from Sea-Gull or Hangzhou, hacking, 38 to 42 hours.
  • $300 and up: decorated clone with a cosmetic co-axial rotor. The co-axial escapement is an Omega design, so a copy is visual only.

Listed prices run from about $80 to $400. US Customs and Border Protection can seize counterfeit imports under 19 U.S.C. 1526(e). The Lanham Act, 15 U.S.C. 1114, covers trademark infringement for sales inside the US. CBP notifies the importer, holds the shipment, and destroys the goods. The carrier issues no refund.

Checks before you pay

  • Ask for a photo of the caseback and the reference engraving.
  • Ask for a movement photo with the rotor visible.
  • Ask for timegrapher numbers. Rate within 10 seconds a day, amplitude 270 to 310 degrees, beat error under 0.5 ms.
  • Ask for the return window in writing.
  • Ask which movement the seller installs. A "Swiss made" claim needs a photo of the balance wheel.

Compare against the real watch

Omega publishes full specs and reference numbers for the Globemaster. A METAS certificate number can be checked with Omega. A copy has no certificate and no matching case number. That check takes one minute and settles the question that photos cannot.
